Description

In this excursion, frog expert and founder of Frog Spotter SA Steven Walker will give a presentation, discussing the distribution of frogs across SA, their behaviour and current efforts for their conservation. In the second part of the excursion, you will then get an opportunity to go outdoors into the world of frogs where you will help identify frog species using the Frog Spotter SA mobile app guided by Steven Walker and others.

The Activating Citizen Scientists project is funded by Office for the Ageing, SA Health & the University of South Australia.

FAQs


What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking on the University of South Australia Mawson Lakes campus is free from 6:00pm. Parking spaces nearest to the event in building J can be found in the ML4 parking lot or on Minerals Lane next to the MM building.

Disability access parking is also available in these areas.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

In order to ensure participant safety, it is required that all particpants registered to the event to bring their ticket. Tickets can either be printed or shown eletronically on your smartphone device.


What should I bring with me to the event?

In order to fully participate in the excursion, we encourage you to bring your smartphone device so you can use the FrogSpotter mobile app in the workshop to help survey for frogs!

The FrogSpotter mobile app can be donwloaded via the Google Play Store on Android devices, or on the Apple Store for Apple iSO devices.


Will the excursion be wheelchair accesible or easy to walk to?

Building J is accessible by wheelchair from all entrences. The area we will be using to search for frogs in is also on the Mawson Lake's campus and is easily accesible by foot.
